Chandigarh, Jul 18 : Sidharth Rawat and Sashi Kumar Mukund of India were defeated in singles matches while Arjun Khade, partnering Denis Yevseyev of Kazakhstan made his exit from doubles in the $ 215,000 ATP Challenger “President's Cup 2019” at the National Tennis Center in Nur-Sultan (Kazakshtan).
Sasi Kumar put up a fine resistance against Arthur Rinderknech of France before going down fighting in both sets which were stretched to tie-breaker. Arthur who fired 15 aces and commited four double faults won 7-6 (9), 7-6 (5) in nearly two hours fierce contest.
Sidharth Rawat lost to 10th seed Matteo Viola of Italy who won the first set by dropping just one game 6-1. However, Sidharth hit back and won the second set by 6-2 to restore parity. Matteo Viola clinched the third and deciding by 6-1.
Third seeded pair of Arjun Kadhe of India and Denis Yevseye of Kazakhstan were outplayed by Nicolas Barrentos of Colombia and Dacundo Mena of Argentina 6-0, 6-1 in 42 minutes in the doubles first round match..(UNI)
