New Delhi, Jul 5 : Continuing their brilliant run, Indian shuttlers Parupalli Kashyap and Sourabh Verma put stellar performances to enter to the men's singles quarterfinals of the USD 75000 Canada Open Super 100 tournament at Markin-MacPhail Centre in Canada.
Sixth seed Kashyap played a tough match, for an hour and 24 minutes to beat China's Ren Peng Bo with 23-21 21-23 21-19. Kashyap faced Ren Peng Bo for the first time but he showed great patience during tough situations and registered victory. "Tough win today .. Happy to get through to the quarters," Kashyap wrote on his twitter handle after the match.
Meanwhile, reigning national champion Sourabh secured a 21-13 15-21 21-15 win over another Chinese Sun Fei Xiang. Sourabh too was happy with his performance and expressed it on twitter.
"Quite happy with my performance today ... executed the strategy well throughout the match. Would like to thank Amrish Shinde for helping me from the sidelines," Sourabh tweeted.
World ranked 36, Kashyap will take on France's Lucas Claerbout whom he defeated in Malaysia Masters earlier this year while World ranked 46, Sourabh will face Li Shi Feng of China in the next round. (UNI)
