Guwahati, Jul 4: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today congratulated athlete Hima Das for bringing laurels to the country by winning the women’s 200-meter sprint gold in the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poznan, Poland.
The chief minister, through a statement, said the Assamese youngster had added another success to her list of accomplishments as the athlete had been consistently striving hard to make her presence felt at the international athletics events.
Hima’s achievements had been able to inspire the budding sportspersons in the state to aim for excellence and make the world aware of the state’s sporting prowess, he said.
The chief minister also hoped that Hima would be able to repeat her success at all future events and the sprint star would keep making the people of the state and the country proud by her achievements at the world stage.
The chief minister also extended his greetings to other medal winners from India in the event. (UNI)
