33rd Usha JTP’s fourth camp winners announced

New Delhi, Jun 21: The fourth and last camp of the 33rd Usha JTP for Golf 2019 concluded on Friday with the announcement of the winners here at Delhi Golf Club.

The likes of Ayesha Gupta, Anushka Gupta, Insha Siddhiqui, Vicky Kumar and Vikas Kumar took away the maximum number of prizes across categories like Putting, Chipping, Pitching, Bunker, Long Drive, and Playing competitions.

50 talented youngsters in the fourth camp were inducted into the game by Jasjit Singh, Class ‘A’ Professional from National Golf Academy of India & PGA of India, Former National Coach & High Performance Manager, IGU.

Delighted at the skillful performance of talented youngsters, Jasjit Singh, said, “The JTP is a great platform to spot and groom young talent into professional world class golfers and we have seen some amazing talent in this group.'

'The support of Usha International for over a decade has helped make it a huge success. With this years' focus on core fitness, JTP provided a terrific platform for the kids to learn several fitness modules that will help them improve strength, stamina, endurance, and agility, impacting the quality of their game,' he added.

DGC Captain, Rohit Sabherwal said, "The USHA JTP is a cradle and launchpad for young golfers. We are privileged to host this program sponsored by USHA and it is an important program for the development of Golf in India. The program was run over four camps which included about 200 budding golfers. Our special focus this year was on fitness and among other aspects, we are working on a program for mind development and use of technical training equipment.”

Over the years, the programme has earned a reputation of being the training ground of world class professional golfers including the likes of Shiv Kapur, Daniel Chopra, Rashid Khan, and Gauri Monga, who are past participants of JTP.

Usha International supports numerous sports and related tournaments in the country including Ultimate Flying disc, Cricket League, Amateur Golf, Deaf Cricket, Blind Sports (Athletics, Kabaddi, Judo and Powerlifting), and Football. (UNI)
