New Delhi, June 20: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has banned Rasikh Salam from the India Under-19 squad for two years for fudging with his age and named Prabhat Maurya his replacement for the upcoming ODI tri-series with England.

"Rasikh Salam has been banned for two years following a discrepancy – submission of faulty birth certificate to BCCI," BCCI said on Wednesday.

Salam who hails from Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir was the third cricketer from the hill state to play IPL after Parvez Rasool and Manzoor Dar.

Salam has so far featured in only one game in IPL in which he conceded 42 runs against Delhi Capitals. The 18-year-old has also taken a hat-trick in a trial match.
