Shimla, Jun 16: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who is quite upbeat on developing an international level Ice Skating Rink in this state capital, met Director of Ice World at Amsterdam in Netherlands Vishavraj Jadeja and discussed with him, the nuances of his ambitious project, the state government confirmed on Sunday.
According to a government statement issued here, Mr Thakur, who was in Amsterdam on Saturday, led a high-level delegation of state government officials.
The project would be developed on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, through transparent bidding process, it said, adding that the development of all weather ice ring at Shimla would make it capable to host national and international tournaments in ice skating and boost tourism to a large extent.
Later, the delegation met representatives of TAKARA Bio Inc and discussed investment opportunities in biotech sector in Himachal Pradesh.
The company showed keen interest in investments in the state, saying that such facilities would ensure long life and quality control of products for food processing.
They also met members of Omnivent, to discuss storage solutions for potatoes and other fruit for supply to large companies for processing facilities.
Omnivent is already present in Himachal Pradesh and wants to expand the technologies, including advanced storage facilities, the statement added. (UNI)
