Panaji, June 6: FC Goa were crowned GFA U18 champions after overcoming Dempo SC 2-0 in their final game of the tournament on Wednesday. This was the club's fourth trophy this season after clinching the Super Cup, the Goa Pro League, and GFA U20 Taca Goa championship.

The young Gaurs went off to a storming start as Joybert Almeida gave them the lead in the 5th minute with Wasim Inamdar providing the assist.

The 38th minute of the game, however, saw the Gaurs being dealt a blow as Wasim was shown a straight red. The youngsters, however, kept things intact to see out the first half and go into the break 1-0 up.

The young Gaurs kept the pressure up in the second half. They had to, however, wait till the 87th minute of the game to score the second of the game. Asfin Pinto came up trumps in the end to net the second for FC Goa.

The final whistle saw the Gaurs jubilant as they rounded of the tournament with a perfect record. This was their third victory after beating Salgaocar and Sporting 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. The Gaurs were given all three points for their game against Churchill Brothers after the Reds withdrew their team from the tournament.

The win also sees the club bring to an end their most successful season in club history with another trophy in their bags. (UNI)
