World Cup: Chahal, Kuldeep add to SA’s misery

Kuldeep Yadav picks his first wicket of the day as he gets rid of JP Duminy. South Africa are five down now.

Yuzvendra Chahal has done the trick for the Team India as he gets rid of both Rassie van der Dussen and Faf du Plessis in one over.

As for India, Mohammed Shami missed out as India opted to play Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar along with spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Jasprit Bumrah struck early to dismiss both South African openers Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla as India took control of their opening game of World Cup 2019.

Bumrah, the world's top-ranked one-day international bowler, had the ball darting around on a cloudy morning in Southampton as he sent back Hashim Amla for six.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first against India at Rose Bowl. Hashim Amla returned for South Africa and skipper Faf du Plessis also confirmed that they are playing two spinners.
