Bengaluru, May 7 : Nigel Llong, a member of the ICC's elite panel of umpires lost his cool and damaged the door of the umpire's room at M Chinnaswamy Stadium during RCB's final home game against SRH on May 4.
Llong kicked the door after the end of first innings of the match which included a final over no-ball controversy.
During the 20th over of the SRH innings, umpire Llong had called an Umesh Yadav delivery a no-ball, however the replay clearly showed that the bowler had not overstepped.
After the delivery, Llong had a discussion with captain Virat Kohli and bowler Umesh but he did not change his decision despite protests from both bowler and captain. He asked the bowler to continue his bowling and it further made Virat Kohli very angry.
Llong has umpired in 56 Test matches, 123 ODIs and 32 T20Is over the years and is likely to be one of the on-field umpires for the IPL 2019 final, to be played in Hyderabad on May 12.
