Half centuries of Suresh Raina, 53 off 38 balls and Faf du Plessis, 96 off 55 balls helped Chennai Super Kings to place a winning target of 171 runs for Kings XI Punjab at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Sunday.

Sam Curran made spectacular bowling attack for KXIP by scalping three wickets including two crucial wickets of Suresh Raina and du Plessis.

Earlier, Kings XI Punjab won the toss and opted to field against Chennai Super Kings here at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. When the opener Shane Watson was bowled by Sam Curran, both Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis have stitched together a solid partnership. Suresh Raina's innings included two sixers and five boundaries. Similarly, du Plessis also made 10 boundaries and three sixers. Chennai, who have already booked their berth in the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs, will look to cement their grip on the top spot in the IPL Points Table. For Punjab to have any chance qualifying for the playoffs, they need to beat CSK by a huge margin and also hope that KKR lose by a similarly big margin.
