Riding on the magic of Lionel Messi, Barcelona registered a spectacular win against Liverpool(3-0) in the Champions League semi-final.
While Luiz Suarez made one goal, Lionel Messi scored twice for Barcelona. Salah scored a solace goal for Liverpool.
Luis Suarez opened the score book during the first-half of the game. Following which, Lionel Messi's two second-half goals - including a stunning free-kick - earned Barcelona a handsome advantage. With this defeat, Liverpool has to struggle a lot in their Champions League semi-final.
The first goal of Messi was instinctive, as he followed up Suarez's shot that came off the bar, but the second was majestic as he found Alisson's top-right corner from around 25 yards out. That was his 600th goal for the Spanish giants.
Liverpool came agonizingly close to a potentially crucial away goal when Roberto Firmino's strike was cleared off the line, before Salah somehow struck the post rather than scoring with the follow-up. Though Liverpool fought with might till the last minute, but they must have thought the gods are not shining on them this year as both Firmino and Salah missed clear-cut chances.
