Jaipur, Apr 20: Riding on newly-appointed RR skipper Smith's unbeaten (59 runs off 48 balls) and Riyan Parag (43 runs off 29 balls) Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by seven wickets in the IPL match here at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
While chasing a target, Rajasthan got a decent start as both the openers played handsomely and were on 39 runs when they lost Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane was caught by Suryakumar on Rahul Chahar's delivery. Later, Sanju Samson and Smith shared 37 runs for the second wicket. Chahar, who took three wickets against Delhi in the last match, retained his stellar performance. Samson became his second victim. Samson hit six fours and a six in his 35-ball 35 off 19 balls.
However, Smith and Parag shared a 70-runs-partnership and guided RR towards victory. Earlier, Mumbai Indians posted a total of 161 runs against Rajasthan Royals. De Kock scored 65 runs off 47 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes, while Yadav made 34 runs of 33 balls. Mumbai lost their second wicket on a score of 108 as Stuart Binny dismissed Suryakumar. Soon, But De Kock journey also came to an end as he was dismissed by Shreyas Gopal. Gopal who would have got QDK's wicket in his very first over of the match if Jofra Archer had held on to a catch.
When Kieron Pollard walked to pavilion on a score of 10 runs off seven balls, the Mumbai were on 124/4, but Hardik Pandya 23 runs of 15 balls helped Mumbai to reach 150 runs with Ben Cutting who scored 13 runs and remained unbeaten.
