Singapore, Apr 12 : Continuing her impresssive performance Indian star shuttler P V Sindhu cruised into the semi-final while Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth and Sameer Verma lost their respective matches in the quarter-final to crash out of the Singapore Open here on Friday.
Sindhu had a tough task beating China's Yanyan Cai 21-13, 17-21, 21-14 a match that lasted for 59 minutes.
Fourth seed Sindhu faces Japanese second seed Nozomi Okuhara in the semi-final clash. In another quarter-final match Okuhara beat Saina Nehwal 21-8, 21-13.
At the end of year 2018 Sindhu won the World Tour Tournament among top 8 players, but she is still searching for the title this year.
The fourth seed reached the semi-final of the India Open in March, while last week was outsed in the second round of the Malaysia Open.
This is Sindhu's first career match against Cai Yanyan. (UNI)
