Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals in last over thriller

Jaipur, Apr 11: Riding on the scintillating batting performances by captain MS Dhoni (58) and Ambati Rayudu (57), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered a four wicket victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Jaipur in the IPL2019 on Thursday.

Aiming at a winning target of 152, CSK reached at the target with the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. This is CSK’s sixth victory in this season of IPL. The Dhoni-Rayudu duo came together at a crucial situation with the Super Kings struggling at 24 for 4 in the sixth over. Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu stitched a partnership in the fifth wicket and stayed till the 18th over, adding 95 runs. Rajasthan Royals made a series of flaws in their fielding. With this win, CSK breaks the jinx of Jaipur victory.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals posted a total of 151/7 in 20 overs against Chennai Super Kings in the IPL match at Sawai Man Singh Stadium here on Thursday. Put in to bat first by CSK, openers gave RR an average start. Ajinkya Rahane was the first one to get out in the bowling of D Chahar as he scored only 14 runs off 11 balls with 3 fours. On the other side, Buttler tried to play freely before getting out. He scored 23 runs off 10 balls with 4 fours and one six.
After openers departure, RR kept losing wickets at regular intervals and never looked in control. However, some late flourish by Shreyas Gopal and Jofra Archer at the end ensured RR reached 151 for 7 in 20 overs.
For CSK , Deepak Chahar, S Thakur and R Jadeja took two wickets each. Mitchell Santner also claimed one wicket. UNI
