Chandigarh, Apr 10 : Indian ace player Leander Paes, partnering Benoit Paire of France defeated Marcelo Demoliner of Brazil and Divij Sharan of India in the doubles first round match in the Euro 524,340 35th Edition of the Hassan II Tennis Trophy at the Royal Tennis Club of Marrakech (Moroco).
In the Moroccan ATP 250, Paes-Paire won by 7-6 (4), 6-3 in one hour and 30 minutes. Paes-Paire who fired four aces and committed three double faults, won 92 per cent points (33/36) on first service and 57 per cent points (16/28) on second service.
Demoliner-Sharan won 74 per cent points (25/34) on their first service and 65 per cent points (17/26) on second service. They saved five out of six breakpoints.
FINE RALLY BY NAGAL: Indian qualifier Sumit Nagal, down one first set, staged a fine rally to dispose of the challenge of Peter Heller of Germany in three-setter first round singles match by 1-6, 6-1, 6-0 in one hour and 55 minutes in the €46,600 ATP Challenger in Barletta (Italy).
Nagal won five out of 22 break points and saved one out of three break points. Peter saved 17 out of 22 break points and won two out of three break points. Sumit Nagal won 32 out of 47 points on first service and eight out of 14 on second service. Peter won 24 out of 42 points on first service and 19 out of 44 points on second service. (UNI)
