Mohali, Apr 1: Riding on Sam Curran and Mohammed Shami's brilliant bowling performance, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) recorded a thrilling win of 14 runs over Delhi Capitals (DC), here at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium on Monday.
Chasing a target of 167 runs, DC bowled out for 152 runs in 19.2 over. Left-arm pacer Curran, who got hat-trick, took four wickets for just 11 runs in 2.2 overs, while his senior bowling partner right-arm fast bowler Shami chipped in with the ball as he got two wickets in his four overs quota for 27 runs.
In the last over, DC required 15 runs with two wickets in hand. Curran, on a very first ball of his over, dismissed Kagiso Rawada for a duck, followed by Sandeep Lamichhane to seal the match for KXIP.
The visitors lost their last seven wickets in just 16 balls. UNI
