Jammu, Mar 3: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary BVR Subramanium on Sunday said that sports in the state is getting boost to keep youth engaged in productive activities.
The Chief Secretary was speaking to the gathering after laying foundation of Multipurpose Sports Complex here at Bhagwati Nagar. "Government is keen to develop sports infrastructure in the state and is boosting games, empowering sportsmen and women so that youth can be engaged in productive things," said the chief secretary.
He further added that Government has already taken various steps for encouraging games and similar such steps are in offing to boost sports in the state. It is pertinent to mention here that the complex will be completed at an estimated cost of 107 Crore which will be having 70,000 seating capacity including central complex of 500 for guests.
Meanwhile the stadium will have various facilities including Skating Rink, Cycling Track, Lawn Tennis, Athletic Track and Jogging Track besides various sports discipline tracks including volleyball, basketball, Rollball, Handball and Badminton. (UNI)
