Usman Khawaja’s fifty helps Australia to cross 170

With the help of a half century made by Usman Khawaja, Australia could overcome its worst beginning to reach at 173/6 after 40 overs in the first ODI against India at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here on Saturday.

Glenn Maxwell (40) and Marcus Stoinis (37) also helped Australia to better their total. Earlier, Australia Captain Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first. But the team got off to a worst beginning by losing early wickets. At one time Australia was at 97/3.

For India, while Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami picked two wickets each, Jasprit Bumrah and Kedar Jadhav could scalp one wickets each.

Team India has made some changes in the playing XI with Ravindra Jadeja making a comeback while Yuzvendra Chahal has been given rest. Australia Captain Aaron Finch is playing his 100th ODI today.

Following a 0-2 series loss in T20 Internationals against Australia, India will look to put their best foot forward and fine-tune their game in their final One-day International assignment before the ICC World Cup 2019, starting on May 30 in the UK.
