New Delhi, Feb 27 : India's young pair of Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary clinched a gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event on the closing day of the ISSF World Cup at Dr Karni Shooting Range here on Wednesday.
The pair registered a total score of 483.5 to finish on the top in the mixed team event.
Chinese pair of Ren Jin Jiang and Bowen Zhang won the bronze medal with a score of 477.7 while Korean pair Minjung Kim and Dehun Park (418.8) won silver medal with a a score of 418.8.
This is India's third medal at the World Cup as Saurabh Chaudhary and Apurvi Chandela won a gold medal each earlier.
Saurabh and Manu were so dominant in the finals that there was a distance of 5.8 points between them and the silver-winning pair.
The Indian pair equaled the world record of qualification by scoring 778 in the qualification.
In the qualification, Manu scored a total of 385 with a series of 96, 95, 98 and 96 while Saurabh scored a total of 393 with a series of 100, 97, 98 and 98.
Another Indian pair of Heena Sidhu and Abhishek Verma got 9th position with a score of 770 in this competition.
The other Indian shooters in 10m air rifle mixed team event disappointed with their performances as none of them reached the finals.Ravi and Anjum were seventh and Apoorvi and Deepak got 25th position.
India jointly topped the standings with Hungary with three gold medals, but managed to secure only one Olympic quota. The tournament offered 14 quota places for the 2020 Tokyo Games. (UNI)
