AIFF to get new coach after May

New Delhi, Feb 6 : The All India Football Federation is likely to get a new coach in May, as the Federation is planning to come up with an advertisement for the same.

AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das said this on Wednesday, on the sidelines of a contract between Chennai City FC and FC Basel Club of Switzerland.

''We have begun the process of searching for a replacement, but the position will not filled until April-May at least.

"The Indian team did a commendable show in the Asia Cup. If we live the last match, then overall, the Indian team did well. It was a good performance, compared to the previous Asia Cup tournaments," he said, on being asked about the Asia Cup performance.

''Indian football has made some substantial progress over the last five-six years and it has reflected in our most recent showing in the Asian Cup and the rise in the team's FIFA rankings,'' he added.

Stephen Constantine resigned as the head coach of the Indian football team, after they crashed out of the AFC Asian Cup. (UNI)
