Tennis: Djokovic enters Aussie Final

As expected Serbia’s Novak Djokovic defeated France’s Lucas Pouille on Friday, January 25, to enter the Final of the Australian Open. The six time champion had a facile win 6-0, 6-2, 6-2 and will now face Rafael Nadal in the much awaited Final on Sunday.

Djokovic has never lost a championship match at Melbourne Park. He shares the record for most Australian titles with Roger Federer and Roy Emerson.

The 31 year old Serb played superbly and overwhelmed Pouille who was playing in a Semi Final of a Grand Slam event for the first time.

All eyes turn now to the Final clash of the champions. Djokovic has a slight edge of 27-25 in career meetings with Nadal. Their five set almost six hour match at Melbourne in2012 is still fresh in everyone’s memory, when Djokovic came out winner.
