Kolkata, Nov 4: India skipper Rohit Sharma won toss and decided to bowl first against West Indies in the first T20 International here at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

While the home team has two debutants with Kunal Pandya and K Khaleel Ahmed, the visitors have three new entrants Oshane Thomas, Fabian Allen and Kharry Pierre.

After winning toss Rohit Sharma said, "We will field first. No particular reason, we have played a lot of cricket here, batting becomes easier, the dew might turn out to be a factor as well. No need to make drastic changes, need to focus on our basics, need to adapt to the different format. It's going to be an exciting series, it's not going to be an easy series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar missed out,he isn't feeling well, so does Yuzvendra Chahal."

Carlos Brathwaite said, "I would have bowled first as well. We were here last night and the dew was ridiculous. But we are bowling second now so we have to contend with that. We have plans for the batsman and bowlers. I've told them to just go and be expressive, enjoy the occasion. Not everyday you get to play in front of 30-40 thousand people. We have three debutants, Oshane Thomas, Fabian Allen, Khari Pierre."
