Pune, Oct 07: Two-time Miss India in Physical fitness Sanjana Dalak of Uttar Pradesh made history as she emerged the champion in the women’s Fitness Physique upto 165 cm, on the second day of the 52nd Asian Body Building and Physique sports championship, sponsored by Hero, powered by Jerai fitness and organised by Indian Body Builders federation at the badminton hall in the Balewadi Sports complex, on Saturday.
Better known as Sanju in the fitness fraternity, the 20-year-old became the first ever Indian woman to win a gold medal in this category.She then went on to add a bronze in the Athletic Physique competition up to 165cm.
Incidentally, this was the second gold for India in this championship after Dinesh Singh won on Friday. Earlier in the day, after returning emptied handed in the last four championships, Pune’s Tushar Gaikwad finally climbed the podium, winning the silver medal in the Athletic Physique up to 167 cms.
