IPL: SRH beat RCB by five runs


Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was able to consolidate its position at the top by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 5 runs in the 39th match of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Monday night.

RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first. SRH which scored 146 runs for 10 wickets in the limited 20 overs. For SRH, Kane Williamson made a brilliant half-century. Chasing for a winning target of 147, RCB’s innings ended in 141 for 6 wickets in 20 overs.

With this defeat, RCB failed to make up for playoffs. With just six points remain in its kitty out of 10 games played by RCB and four more games to play. However, SRH sits comfortably at the top of the VIVO points table.
