Sikkim Chief Minister concerned after 7 returnees test Covid-19 positive

Gangtok, Jun 7 : Chief Minister PS Tamang has expressed great concern over four more youth testing Coronavirus positive on Saturday, after which the tally reached seven in the state. "Four more people tested positive for COVID19, taking the tally to 7 in Sikkim.This is unfortunate," Chief Minister Tamang has said. He urged every Sikkimese to pray for the "speedy recovery of our brothers and sisters,who have been infected and also for the safety of our frontline warriors."

"Lockdown period has provided us enough time to prepare. We have procured every necessary equipment to deal with pandemic," he added. CM PS Tamang has requested everyone to remain calm as doctors and health workers of the state are capable of handling the coronavirus situation. "Citizens must continue following guidelines and stay at home unless required," he urged, adding that cooperation of all the people of Sikkim will strengthen the government's resolve to tackle the disease and all shall emerge victorious together. However, all the seven coronavirus positive returnees are in government hospitals in Gangtok. Three returnees tested positive earlier and four tested positive yesterday. (UNI)
