Gangtok, May 7 : Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad has expressed his satisfaction at the screening of stranded returnees from other States and other precautionary activities going on at the Checkpost. Governor Ganga Prasad visited Rangpo checkpost on Sikkim-West Bengal border to see the evacuation of returnees himself.
The Chief Medical Officer East Dr Tshering Laden apprised the Governor about the process of screening on arrival and mandatory tests, in addition to tests after 5 days at quarantine centres also there. He presented a box full of Sanitizers, masks to frontline workers there including health workers, police and safai karamcharis and also packets of snacks. On his return journey, Governor Prasad made it a point to visit the facility quarantine centre functional at Himalayan Hostel and Girls’ Hostel of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Majhitar.
