Gangtok, Apr 9: Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad in the 2nd Review meeting convened at Raj Bhawan last evening, focusing on need for early detection of disease and treatment and urged the State Government to expedite setting up of Testing Lab for COVID-19 here itself.
He also stressed on attaching highest priority to vulnerable section of society, in case of possible extension of Lock down. However, presently relevant samples for testing are sent to North Bengal. Chief Minister PS Tamang has apprised the Governor about future road map in view of possible extension of lock down due to increase in rate of spread of virus across the nation . He mentioned steps being taken including closing educational Institutes till the situation created due to COVID-19 normalizes. Further restrictions on normal movement via check posts on borders, ongoing equitable distribution of relief .
He appreciated the public for cooperating staying home.
