Devotees offer Bonalu at Mahankali in Secunderabad temple

About three lakh devotees offered "Bonalu" (cooked rice, jaggery and curd) to Goddess Mahankali at the century-old Sri Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad on the occasion of the annual Bonalu tp Goddess Mahankalil bonalu jatara till this afternoon.

The entire city wore a festive look with thousands of traditionally dressed women carrying "bonalu" in decorated pots on their heads marching towards the tastefully decorated ancient temple.
Authorities estimated that about 20 lakh people would visit the temple for the darshan of the Goddess on the occasion of the annual bonalu jatara, the most famous religious event in the twin cities and other parts of Telangana, being celebrated as a state festival.
State Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav offered the first "bonam" early today,while thousands of devotees queued since 3 a.m
