Chittorgarh, May 26 : With four people testing positive, the number of COVID-19 cases in this Rajasthan district increased to 174 on Tuesday. According to the medical department, a resident of Soni Pahwar of Begun district, who was doing business in Mumbai, had come to his ancestral home on May 22 along with eight family members.
Upon arrival, the entire family was quarantined by the administration and their samples taken. The reports were received on Tuesday showing four of them as positive. Panic gripped the locality as reportedly, despite being in institutional quarantine, the suspects were roaming around the town for three days meeting their acquaintances. On getting information, the administration sprung into action and started gathering information about their contacts.
Although curfew has not been imposed, precautions are being taken. With this, the total number of corona infected people in the district has increased to 174. So far, four people have succumbed to the deadly virus. However, 131 patients have recovered. So far, 7400 samples have been collected from the district. (UNI)
