Infant succumbs to COVID in Raj; tally reaches 4418

Jaipur, May 14 : The deadly Novel Coronavirus has claimed two lives in Rajasthan, including that of a two-month-old boy, in the past 24 hours, while the number of infected people in the state mounted to 4418 on Thursday after 90 fresh cases surfaced.

According to the Medical bulletin, a 63-year-old, resident of Ram Ganj locality in Jaipur, apart from a two-month-old boy, who originally hailed from Agra in Uttar Pradesh, also succumbed to the disease in this state capital.

Both were admitted to SMS Hospital, here. With this, the death toll reached 122 in this desert state. Udaipur reported maximum 25 cases, followed by Jaipur and Nagaur 16 each, Jodhpur eight, Sikar seven, Ajmer six, Churu four, Rajsamand three, Jalore two, while Kota, Alwar and Karoli recorded one case each.

The department has so far tested 1,94,683 samples, out of which 1,86,123 cases came out negative, while 4418 tested positive. The reports of 4164 were still awaited, the bulletin added. (UNI)
