Jaipur, Dec 11 : Amid emerging trends for a clear majority to the Congress in the Rajasthan Assembly polls, the AICC General Secretary and former state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday gave a call to Independents and non BJP parties to join hands with the grand old party.
Talking to the media at his residence here this afternoon, a jubilant Gehlot said "Although the Congress is set to get good number itself, but, we believe in the democracy and inclusive approach, hence, we are ready to welcome Independents and prospective winners from non BJP secular parties".
He said that outcome of the Assembly elections in these five states was expected to set the moods of the people for next general elections.
Over the issue of leadership of the party government, the Congress leader maintained that the party chief Rahul Gandhi will take the call on the issue after sensing the aspirations of the MLAs. UNI
