No vote, if, spread of dengue not contained; voters in Jodhpur threaten

Jodhpur, Nov 7: Disappointed over the approach and attitude of government officials, the people in a locality here decided to utilise the power of vote for resolving their problem and announced that if, the authorities contained the spread of dengue in the locality then only they would exercise their franchise in the December 7 assembly polls.

The residents of the Baiji Ka Talab area here, agitated after the death of two persons due to the mosquito caused disease, on Tuesday hit the streets and held demonstration to protest against the inaction and apathy of officials in dealing with the situation.

People announced that they would not cast vote if the authorities failed to contain the spread of the disease. They have also displayed a hoarding to make public their move of poll boycott. The residents also declared to launch agitation against the attitude of Chief Medical and Health officer.(UNI)
