Chandigarh, Jun 8 : Haryana on Monday registered two deaths and 142 fresh Coronavirus cases in the state, raising the death toll to 30 and the infected tally to 4,576. Two patients succumbed to the fatal virus in Gurugram district, according to an official health bulletin released here on Monday noon.
Meanwhile, 89 fresh cases have been reported from Gurugram district, 38 from Faridabad, three each from Panipat, Jind and Sirsa, two from Hisar and one new case each from Jhajjar, Ambala, Panipat and Panchkula districts. Of the 30 fatalities till now, 13 deaths have been reported from Faridabad district, six from Gurugram, four from Panipat, two each from Ambala and Jind, while one death each was reported from Sonepat, Karnal and Rohtak districts.
Gurugram has reported the highest number of infections in the state with 2,011 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad 714, Sonepat 423, Rohtak 162, Palwal 127, Jhajjar 110, Nuh and Narnaul 102 each, Karnal 99, Ambala 88, Panipat and Hisar 84 each, Bhiwani 72, Sirsa 55, Kurukshetra 52, Rewari 48, Kaithal 44, Fatehabad 43, Jind 42, Charkhi Dadri 35, Panchkula 34, Yamunanagar 20 and 21 US-returnee Haryana citizens. Of the 1,47,965 samples, 4576 have tested positive and 1,38,171 negative, while results of 5204 samples are awaited.
There are 3081 active cases in the state. A total of 1465 patients, including 451 from Gurugram, 183 from Faridabad, 164 from Sonepat, 96 from Jhajjar, 73 from Nuh, 56 from Rohtak, 54 from Palwal, 53 from Ambala, 51 from Panipat, 41 from Karnal, 38 from Sirsa, 37 from Narnaul, 30 from Kurukshetra, 26 each from Panchkula and Jind, 25 from Kurukshetra, 28 from Hisar, twelve each from Rewari and Fatehabad, eleven each from Kaithal and Bhiwani, nine from Yamunanagar, one from Charkhi Dadri district and two US returnee Haryana citizens have been discharged from hospitals till now.
As many as 79,373 patients have been put on surveillance till date, of which 48,174 have completed their surveillance period and presently, only 31,199 patients are under surveillance. The total 4,576 positive cases exclude 14 Italian nationals. Thirteen of them had been discharged after their initial test was negative and one later tested negative for COVID-19.
