Chandigarh, Jun 1 : The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) on Monday surpassed generation targets of 1447 million units fixed by the Central Electricity Authority for the financial year 2020-21 (up to 31 May, 2020) by generating 2065.44 million units, 42.74 percent more than the target.
According to a BBMB statement here, the plant availability for the period April 1, 2020 to May 31, 2020 excluding RM&U is 99.66 per cent and transmission system availability for the period is 99.81 per cent. The surpassing of generation target has been possible due to judicious operation of reservoirs as well as efficient operation and maintenance of the generating units with one of the highest plant availability, it said.
BBMB Chairman D K Sharma congratulated all the employees of the Board for their untiring efforts to maintain excellence in irrigation and power sectors, added the statement. (UNI)
