Chandigarh, May 30 : In a major break-through, Haryana police on Saturday apprehended three wanted criminals, two of whom carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 each, from Palwal district.
Giving this information here on Saturday, a Haryana police spokesperson said that the arrested criminals, identified as Sunil and Lokesh, both residents of Kethwadi and Arjun, a resident of village Chandhut, were wanted in more than a dozen criminal cases.
Divulging the details, he said that a CIA team received a tip off that the three accused who had fired shots at one Sanjay, a resident of village Kethwadi, were seen near the Kethwadi bridge. The police immediately swung into action and reached the designated spot and nabbed them. During preliminary interrogation, Sunil revealed that he had an old rivalry with Sanjay and his family.
He, along with Lokesh and Arjun, had shot Sanjay with an intention of killing him on the night of May 21 and escaped. A case in this regard was registered at Chandhut police station. Sunil has nine cases of heinous crime registered against him, whereas Lokesh is wanted in 6 cases. Police had declared a reward of 20,000 each on their arrest. The accused were produced in court which sent them to two-day police remand. Further investigations are underway.(UNI)
