Moga police registers 110 FIRs, arrests 323 people for violating lockdown

Moga, Apr 28 : As many as 110 FIR’s have been registered and 323 persons arrested for violating prohibitory orders in the district amid the ongoing lockdown to contain the highly contagious Covid-19 disease, police said on Tuesday. Around 38 vehicles were seized and 1030 persons kept in open jail for defying the government orders, SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill said.

Though many have understood the gravity of the situation, there are many who do not want to stay at home despite getting essential commodities on their door steps, he said. Residents have been coming out of their houses without any valid reasons. According to official information, all the private hospitals in the town started functioning today and witnessed a rush of patients. Both Deputy Commissioner and SSP appealed to the residents to stay at home and don’t come out of their houses without any reasonable cause. (UNI)
