Police arrest two gangsters in Punjab with country made pistols

Phagwara, Mar 3 : In a big success, the CIA Staff headed by Inspector Harneek Singh on Tuesday arrested two gangsters and recovered three country made pistols, 20 live cartridges and one motorcycle from them. This was stated by Superintendent of the Police (Detective) Manpreet Dhillon and SP Phagwara Manwinder Singh while talking to media persons here in the afternoon.

SP Dhillon said that the accused were nabbed at a checkpoint near Village Nasirabad in Phagwara Sub Division when they were going on a motorcycle. SP Dhillon said that two country made pistols and 13 live cartridges of 7.65 mm were recovered from one accused Mukesh Kumar Alias Khanna resident of Village Virk and one country made pistol and seven live cartridges of 8 mm from the arrested accused Parminder Singh Alias Dulla resident of Village Narur. The Police have also impounded their bike and registered a case under sections 25/54/59 of Arms Act.

Giving details, both SPs said that during preliminary investigation, the arrested accused have disclosed before the police that they took these weapons from a Kirpa Nagar Phagwara resident Michel who had old enmity with a Village Bohani resident Harpreet Singh to take revenge from him. Further investigations are continued and several more disclosures are expected, said SP Dhillon. (UNI)
