Chandigarh, Jan 16 : The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday demanded to implement the promises made to the people by the Indian National Congress while staging a walk out in the Vidhan Sabha during the Governor’s Address.

The SAD-BJP legislature party members, led by SAD leader Sharanjit Singh Dhillon condemned the unholy coalition between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the INC for denying the people their due. He said with Leader of Opposition Harpal Cheema only interested in saving his chair and four AAP legislators – Sukhpal Khaira, Master Baldev Singh, Nirmal Manshaiya and Amarjit Sandoa only interested in saving themselves from disqualification, the people’s voice for fulfillment of the promises made to them was going unheard.

The SAD-BJP legislature wing first staged a protest outside the Vidhan Sabha in solidarity with the people of Punjab, stating the ruling government had betrayed each and every section of society. Following this the legislators rose from their seats during the Governors Address and staged a walk out from the House ringing rattles. Speaking to the media in the Vidhan Sabha premises, Mr Dhillon said even though this was the fourth Governor Address, none of the promises made to the people had been fulfilled till now.

He further said farm suicides were at an all time high in Punjab because the government had failed to implement the complete farm loan waiver. Mr Dhillon alleged that similarly the government had reneged on all the promises made to the youth be it ''ghar ghar naukari'', providing unemployment allowance of Rs 2,500 per month or mobile phones.(UNI)
