Moga, June 7: State Vigilance Bureau on Friday nabbed a Secretary Market Committee Ludhiana red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.
A spokesman for Vigilance Bureau Punjab said here Amandeep Singh Sandhu, Moga Secretary of Market Committee, was caught red-handed on a complaint of Gurkamal Singh of Ludhiana.
He said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that he was demanding Rs 50,000 for favouring him for transportation of vegetable laden vehicles but the deal was struck at Rs 30,000.
After verifying his complaint, the VB team laid a trap and the accused was caught red-handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ludhiana.
