Jalandhar RTA challans 25 school buses for violations

Jalandhar, May 28 : In order to ensure the implementation of safe school vahan policy, the Transport and Police authorities on Tuesday conducted surprise checking and issued challan to 25 school buses.

The team, led by Secretary of Regional Transport Authority Nayan Jassal and Assistant Police Commissioner of Traffic Vaibhav Sehgal, conducted the checking of vehicles at Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, specially to check the violations made by the school vehicles, to ensure the implementation of Safe School Vahan Policy.

According to the officers, violation of this policy meant posing a huge risk to the life and safety of the school children, which could not be allowed at any cost.They said during checking, these 25 buses were found without fire extinguisher, valid pollution certificate, CCTV cameras, attendants, fitness certificate or uniform, adding that even some buses were found overloaded with the students.

They said the checking would be further intensified in the coming days, to ensure that no violation of law takes place.
