Moga, Mar 21: Jagmeet Singh Brar, former member of Lok Sabha and former Congress leader is all set to join Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Highly placed source in AAP said that Mr Brar will join in the party within few days. "The matter of his joining has already been finalised at national level," he said.

Brar was a member of Parliament for two terms from Faridkot in 1991-1996 and 1999-2004. He lost two Lok Sabha elections in 2004 and 2009 by a narrow margin.

A former Congress Working Committee member and AICC general secretary, Brar had quit the Congress ahead of the state Assembly elections and had joined TMC which failed to create any political gain in the state.

He rose to fame when he defeated the then Union Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in 1999 Lok Sabha elections. (UNI)
