Moga, Jan 13: Gurpurab of 10th Master Guru Gobind Singh Ji was celebrated in all the three districts of the region Shri Mukatsar Sahib, Faridkot and Takhtupura of Moga district.

Thousands of devotees thronged to take bath in historic sarvors of the historic Gurudwaras of the region.

Despite the cold weather, thousands of devotees from various parts of the state thronged to historic Gurudwara Tibbi Sahib of Shri Mukatsar Sahib and took bath in the sarvor. After taking bath, devotees paid obeisance in the Gurudwara.

Similary, thousands of devotees also took bath in historic Gurudwara sarvor of Gurudwara Baba Farid at Faridkot. The large number of devotees from Moga and Jagrown police district took bath in Holy sarvor at historic Gurudwara Takhtupura in Moga district and latter visited the Gurudwara and paid obeisance there.

On the occasion of Maghi Mela tomorrow, the ruling Congress party will not hold any political conference as per the decision taken by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

The district administration has taken all necessary steps to celebrate the festival in a peaceful environment without any untoward incidents. Security has been stepped up and heavy police force being deployed in the area. (UNI)
