Chandigarh, Dec 5: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 170.23 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till Tuesday.
Stating this here on Wednesday, an official spokesman said that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the state, the government agencies procured 168.97 lakh metric tonnes of paddy while 1,25,778 metric tonnes has been procured by the millers. Besides, 168.92 lakh metric tonnes paddy has been lifted and payment worth Rs 29330.52 crore has been made to the artiyas/farmers.
He said that PUNGRAIN has procured 59,18,250.75 metric tonnes, MARKFED 38,88,208.66 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 35,26,031 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 15,64,176 and 17,48,626.7 metric tonnes paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 2,51,433 metric tonnes paddy. (UNI)
