Chandigarh, Oct 12: Aam Adami Party (AAP) MLA HS Phoolka has announced that he will resign from Punjab Legislative Assembly on October 12, in protest against the state government's 'failures' to book former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and former Director General of Police (DGP) Sumedh Singh Saini in sacrilege incidents.
The Dakha MLA said he will submit his resignation to the Election Commission and send a copy to Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana K P Singh. Phoolka said earlier, he had deferred his resignation as the Punjab and Haryana High Court had stayed action against four police officials, accused of firing on the Sikh protesters.
He said now, there was no stay to act against Badals and the former DGP, but the government failed to act. (UNI)
