Puducherry, Jun 6 : After a gap of 75 days, Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi undertook a field visit here on Saturday, following the relaxation in the lockdown rules. She visited several areas in the town and inspected whether people are following the lockdown rules. She advised the people to maintain social distance and wear masks while they make purchases and directed the police to impose fine if they violate rules.
Later, in a Whatsapp posting, the Lt Governor said it is such a relief to see people back to livelihood while protecting themselves. With the majority wearing masks and those who are not were booked to keep up the necessity of it for social health and protection. Ms Bedi said main precautions have to be taken at all places to ensure wearing of masks, social distancing, hygiene and sanitation, avoid crowding, use more online services wherever available and among other things. Also one has to make online plans for visiting Shani temple on the lines of Tirumala temple being planned by Karaikal Collector, She said. These precautions by organizers and people shall reduce community spread of COVID-19, the Lt Governor added. (UNI)
