Puducherry, May 27: Five more persons tested positive for Coronavirus in Puducherry region on Wednesday taking the total number of active cases to 39 in the Union Territory, Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao said. Talking to news persons here, he said 116 sample tests of people were conducted on Tuesday and of which 5 persons were tested positive for the virus.
Two persons from Muthialpet, and one each from Solai Nager, Moogambigai Nagar and Dharmapuri were tested positive, he said, adding that all these positive cases have been spread through contact. The five were admitted to the Government Medical College for treatment, the Minister said. Mr Rao said that apart from the five, four persons from Chennai were also tested positive for COVID-19 and they have been admitted to Jipmer hospital for treatment. The four came to Puducherry to visit their relative who is a driver with Jipmer and tested positive. However, these four patients will be added in the Tamil Nadu Coronavirus patients account, he said. (UNI)
