Puducherry, May 19 : AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazahgan on Tuesday said that Chief Minister V Narayanasamy should strongly oppose the decision of the Central government to privatize the power discoms in Union Territories.
In a statement here, Mr Anbazhagan said the government should not accept any decision of the central government which deprives the UT of its rights and added that the AIADMK will extend its support to ensure the welfare of the electricity department employees. Stating that he was surprised to know that the Cabinet had given approval for the sale of liquor from 7 AM to 7 PM while it was from 10 AM to 5 PM in adjoining Tamil Nadu, Mr Anbazhagan wondered why the DMK and Congress, which resorted to agitation when the Tamil Nadu government opened liquor shops are silent now .
This clearly shows the ‘Double Stance” of the parties, he added. Pointing out the postponement of the opening of liquor shops in the Union Territory, Mr Anbazhagan also wondered why the Chief Minister, who is going on stating that the LG is intervening into the day- to-day affairs of the administration though, she do not have powers and officials should not obey her directions, sent the proposal to open liquor shops to her. The Chief Minister’s stance in opening the liquor shops is slippery, he charged. (UNI)
