Puducherry, May 18: Taking strong exception to the reported move of the Congress-DMK government here to cut salary of its employees in the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown and the subsequent Revenue loss, AIADMK legislature party leader A Anbazahgan on Monday cautioned that the party would organize a massive agitation if the government went ahead with the proposal.
Anbazhagan said there were employees drawing more than Rs 1 lakh as salary and a particular percentage from their salary could be deducted. But any cut in the salary of other group employees would not be allowed, he added. He said Chief Minister V Narayanasamy was convening the Cabinet and Disaster Management Authority meetings time and again. But no relief or concessions were announced to the poor suffering because of the lockdown. (UNI)
