Puducherry, May 14 (UNI) BJP Puducherry Unit President and nominated MLA in the Assembly V Saminathan on Thursday advised Chief Minister V Narayanasamy to stop criticizing the Central government and strive a bit hard for the welfare of people who voted him to power. In a statement here, Mr Saminathan said the continued criticism of Mr Narayanasamy against the Centre shows his ‘inability’ and ‘political inefficiency’.

He said the union government had tied the hands of middle men who swindle peoples' money and started to remit it directly into their accounts through Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. The BJP leader said when the central government had provided welfare schemes to the tune of Rs 300 crore, the Chief Minister said that not a single paise was given towards COVID-19 fund.

There is no justification in Mr Narayanasamy seeking Rs.1000 crore towards COVID-19 relief with 'three or four positive patients' are undergoing treatment in UT, while, Tamil Nadu government with 7.75 crore population and 8500 persons affected by the virus sought Rs 1000 crore, Mr Saminathan said.
