Puducherry, May 11 : Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Monday said that it seems from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech while addressing the chief ministers through a video conference that the lockdown may be extended with further relaxation after May 17.
Talking to newspersons here tonight, the chief minister said a clear picture would be available only after May 17. The chief minister said he apprised the financial position of the union territory and stated that the UT lost revenue and only 12 per cent revenue was achieved during March and April. Though he demanded financial support from the central government, the inclusion of Puducherry in the 15th central finance commission etc, the prime minister failed to mention anything about finance or revenue and simply said that the states should discuss with officials and inform him in the issue of classification of Red, Orange and Green zones by the state governments itself. The chief minister said that he will hold talks with the chief secretary and other officials and will write to the centre in making all areas except the affected one here into green zones. (UNI)
